Major updates

  • Live CMS data feeds — Hospital, FQHC, and Rural Health Clinic location lists now stream live directly from official CMS data APIs so facility maps and counts stay current automatically without manual updates.
  • Priority Compass expanded — The Priority Compass now lets users save, load, export, import, and share custom weighting models, download formatted Excel results for offline review and model comparison, search metrics with a type-to-filter picker, and step through a guided two-step access screen to focus the rankings.
  • Regional context and clearer data sources — A Council of Government (regional council) overlay was added to the map with each county's regional council shown in tooltips and county detail views, type-to-filter search bars were added to the map explorer dropdowns, and the Sources page now shows a full HRSA Unmet Needs Score measures-and-weights breakdown plus a deeper dive into UDS FQHC demographics for clearer provenance.

Minor updates

  • Searchable metric picker (Priority Compass) — You can now type to filter the metric list when building a model, and the population and rural metrics no longer imply a need direction.
  • More accurate population handling — Counties with no reported population are now treated as missing instead of zero so rankings stay accurate.
  • Responsive dialogs — Pop-up windows now resize to fit your screen so action buttons always stay in view, including the saved-models dialog.
  • Expanded county snapshots (Priority Compass) — County drill-downs now list more of the nearby facilities for each area.
  • Updated CMS source links — The CMS data source now points to the current provider-characteristics index page.
  • Tidier metric controls (Priority Compass) — The remove-metric button now stays aligned on the same row for easier editing.
  • Cleaner facility map pins — Map coordinates were corrected so distinct facilities no longer share a single pin.
  • Faster, lighter app — Unused code was removed and the spreadsheet reader was streamlined to speed up the app and reduce its size.
  • Refined sources order — The Sources list was reordered to surface workforce, CMS, and HRSA sources more logically.
  • Clearer exclusion wording (Priority Compass) — The access screen now explains the difference between matching ALL versus ANY exclusion criteria.
  • Easier Excel exports (Priority Compass) — Metric labels in the export model picker are no longer clipped, and the Model Comparison sheet is easier to read.
